Todd Harmon Reacquires and Relaunches BathGems on Shopify, Offering Expert-Vetted Bathroom Vanities

Harmon’s background in the vanity industry includes more than a decade (2010–2020) in the field and founding JWH Living, a vanity brand he designed and imported himself.
Harmon emphasizes his hands-on expertise with the line, saying, 'I know how a vanity should be made, because I’ve made them. I know how the drawers should glide and how the joinery should hold up' as part of the vetting behind BathGems' curated catalog.
The reacquisition is framed as closing a loop that began two decades ago, tracing back to the brand’s 2005 origins.
The Shopify relaunch brings a faster, more shopper-friendly checkout environment and movement away from Magento, with real-world styled photography to show how pieces look in a home.
Todd Harmon has bought back BathGems, the bathroom vanity brand he founded in 2005, and relaunched it on Shopify as a curated shopping destination. Financial Content reports that Harmon made the move through his company, Aura Modern Home, bringing hand-picked collections, deeper filtering, and custom photography to the revamped site.
The relaunch closes a loop that began two decades ago. Harmon sold the brand after building it, spent more than a decade designing and importing vanities, then returned to take ownership again. This time, he says, the catalog reflects real-world knowledge — not just a list of products.
Harmon's return to BathGems is backed by hands-on industry experience. From 2010 to 2020, he ran JWH Living, a vanity brand he designed and imported himself. That decade-plus in the field shapes how he now vets every product in the BathGems catalog.
"I know how a vanity should be made, because I've made them," Harmon said. "I know how the drawers should glide and how the joinery should hold up." His goal is simple: only bring in pieces he would install in his own home or his family's.
The new BathGems runs on Shopify, replacing an older Magento setup that had grown slow and clunky. The switch brings a faster checkout and easier navigation. Eagle Country Lifestyle notes the site now features custom photography that shows how pieces look inside a real home, not just against a white background.
The photography choice matters. Shoppers often struggle to picture how a vanity will look once installed. By styling pieces in real rooms, BathGems tries to close that gap and cut down on buyer hesitation.
One of Harmon's biggest complaints about vanity shopping is overwhelm. Too many options, too few ways to narrow them down. BathGems now lets shoppers filter by exact size, color, wood type, and wood tone. The goal is to get someone to the right piece quickly, without scrolling through dozens of bad fits.
The curated approach means a smaller catalog by design. Harmon is not trying to list every vanity on the market. He is trying to list only the ones worth buying, which he says reduces the guesswork for buyers who do not know where to start.
Harmon's move fits a pattern seen across e-commerce. Founders who sell brands sometimes return years later, armed with more experience and better tools, to rebuild what they started. In this case, Harmon comes back with a decade of manufacturing knowledge and a modern Shopify stack.
Worldnews noted that the reacquisition came through Aura Modern Home LLC, a subsidiary structure that gave Harmon a clean path back to ownership. The result is a brand that looks new on the surface but carries twenty years of origin story underneath.
