Epoch Investment Adjusts Stakes in Waters, Mastercard, and AbbVie, Boosting Key Holdings

Waters Corporation: Epoch boosted its stake to 224,431 shares (up 0.9% after buying 1,958) and Waters has very high institutional ownership, with about 94.01% of the stock held by institutional investors and hedge funds. The stock trades in a 52-week range of $275.05–$414.15 and has a market capitalization around $36.77 billion.
NVR, Inc.: Epoch’s stake rose to 16,359 shares, valued at about $107.8 million, as part of a 10.7% quarterly increase. Notably, about 83.67% of NVR stock is owned by hedge funds and institutional investors.
Linde PLC: Epoch reduced its LIN position by 17.7% to 160,809 shares, after selling 34,654 shares in the quarter; institutional investors own a large majority of the stock at about 82.80%.
Mastercard Incorporated: Epoch’s MA stake is 277,878 shares and is worth about $138.845 million, representing roughly 0.8% of Epoch’s portfolio and ranking as the 25th-largest holding.
AbbVie Inc.: Epoch owns 1,506,142 shares worth about $327.571 million, accounting for 2.0% of Epoch’s holdings and making AbbVie its second-largest holding.
Epoch Investment Partners Inc. made notable moves across five major stocks in the first quarter, filing fresh 13F disclosures that show a mix of bold increases and strategic cuts. The biggest single bet was on AbbVie, where Epoch boosted its stake by 11.2% to 1,506,142 shares — a position now worth about $327.6 million and the firm's second-largest holding, according to Watchlist News.
Across the portfolio, Epoch added to positions in Waters, NVR, and Mastercard while trimming its Linde stake by nearly one-fifth. The moves signal a shift toward healthcare and payments and away from industrial gases.
AbbVie was the standout. Epoch added enough shares to push its stake to 1,506,142, up 11.2% in a single quarter. At roughly $327.6 million, AbbVie now sits at 2.0% of Epoch's total portfolio. That makes it the firm's second-largest holding, Watchlist News reported.
NVR, the homebuilder, also saw a big jump. Epoch raised its NVR position by 10.7%, bringing it to 16,359 shares worth about $107.8 million. That is a sharp move for a stock where institutional investors already own about 83.67% of the float.
Epoch's Mastercard stake climbed 0.6% to 277,878 shares. That position is worth about $138.8 million and makes up roughly 0.8% of Epoch's portfolio. It ranks as the firm's 25th-largest holding, according to Watchlist News.
Waters Corporation got a smaller lift too. Epoch bought 1,958 additional shares, pushing its total to 224,431 — a 0.9% increase. Waters trades in a 52-week range of $275.05 to $414.15 and carries a market cap of about $36.77 billion. Institutional investors hold about 94% of the stock.
Not every move was a buy. Epoch sold 34,654 shares of Linde PLC during the quarter, cutting its position by 17.7% to 160,809 shares. That is one of the firm's sharpest reductions in recent filings, according to Watchlist News.
Linde is a global industrial gas company with heavy institutional backing — about 82.80% of its shares are held by institutions. Epoch's exit from a chunk of that position stands out against its otherwise bullish moves elsewhere in the portfolio.
Epoch did not limit its selling to Linde. The firm sold 279,703 shares of Chipotle Mexican Grill, cutting that stake by 9.6%. It now holds 2,622,106 shares of the restaurant chain. Separately, Epoch trimmed its CVS Health position by 2.7%, selling 55,744 shares and keeping 2,039,191, per Watchlist News.
Iron Mountain and Entergy also saw cuts. Epoch reduced Iron Mountain by 2.1% and Entergy by 3.9%, selling 35,002 Entergy shares in the quarter. Together, the moves paint a picture of a firm rotating away from utilities and real estate while leaning into healthcare and consumer-facing sectors.
