New York Giants Detail Major Training Center Expansion to Boost Player Performance by 2028

Recovery and wellness facilities will include hydrotherapy, steam, sauna, red light therapy, cryotherapy, dry float tanks and hyperbaric chambers, signaling a comprehensive upgrade beyond standard training spaces.
Architectural design emphasizes Giants identity with bold forms, open sightlines and shared spaces to foster collaboration, drawing on the strength and energy of the tri-state area to reflect a performance-driven culture.
The Giants will hold training camp at The Greenbrier in West Virginia this year due to MetLife Stadium work tied to World Cup preparations.
During the renovation, the team will continue to operate from the Quest Diagnostics Training Center while construction proceeds at the current facility.
The New York Giants are planning one of the biggest overhauls in team history at their East Rutherford headquarters. The expansion of the Quest Diagnostics Training Center will add roughly 93,500 square feet of new construction and renovate another 46,000 square feet — a total footprint change of 139,500 square feet — with the goal of finishing before the 2028 season, according to Giants Wire.
Co-owners John Mara and Jonathan Tisch are calling the project a major investment in the organization's future. The upgrades touch nearly every corner of the facility, from the locker room to recovery suites, and are designed to keep the Giants competitive as the NFL continues to evolve.
The new locker room will exceed 6,000 square feet and hold 100 full-size lockers, Sports Business Journal reported. That gives every player on an active roster — plus practice squad members — a dedicated, full-sized space. The current facility no longer meets the demands of a modern NFL roster.
The weight room will top 11,000 square feet and include a nutrition bar and a cardio mezzanine. The mezzanine will overlook the indoor practice field, letting players train while staying connected to the on-field environment. Those details were confirmed by Giants Wire.
The expanded wellness wing will include hydrotherapy pools, steam rooms, saunas, red light therapy, cryotherapy, dry float tanks, and hyperbaric chambers, according to Back Sports Page. That list covers nearly every cutting-edge recovery tool used across professional sports today.
Advanced sports medicine, rehabilitation, and general wellness spaces are also part of the plan. The goal is to give players and medical staff everything they need under one roof. Keeping athletes healthy over a long season is increasingly seen as a competitive edge in the NFL.
Architecture and construction firm EwingCole and builder Natoli Construction Corp. are leading the project. The design uses bold forms, open sightlines, and shared spaces to push collaboration between players, coaches, and staff, NJ Biz reported. The look draws on what designers call the strength and energy of the tri-state area.
An updated cafeteria is also part of the plan. Shared meal spaces have become a key tool for team building in professional sports. The Giants want the building itself to feel like an extension of their identity and performance culture.
Construction will start while the team still operates out of the Quest Diagnostics Training Center. But this summer, the Giants will hold training camp at The Greenbrier resort in West Virginia. The move is driven by two factors: the facility renovation and World Cup-related work tearing up the area around MetLife Stadium, according to Yahoo Sports.
The World Cup comes to the New York area in 2026, and preparation work near MetLife Stadium is already disrupting normal operations. The Giants expect all construction at their headquarters to wrap up in time for the 2028 NFL season.
