Cosm Opens Massive 70,000-Square-Foot Immersive Sports And Entertainment Venue In Downtown Detroit

Cosm’s stadium-style seating allows guests to order food and drinks directly from their seats through the venue’s smartphone app or with a server.
The Hall is designed as a 300-capacity high-tech sports bar with three bars, while the venue’s open-air deck gives every seat a view of a screen overlooking downtown Detroit.
Cosm CEO Jeb Terry Jr. said Detroit’s sports culture was a major reason for opening the venue there, telling attendees, “Firstly, the fandom here is unmatched; you guys know how to cheer for your sports.”
The launch party included clips of major moments in Detroit sports history before concluding with a broadcast of the Seahawks-Patriots game.
Detroit is one of several Cosm locations nationwide; existing venues include Los Angeles, Dallas and Atlanta, with another planned for Cleveland.
Cosm Detroit has opened in downtown Cadillac Square with a bold bet on immersive sports entertainment. The 70,000-square-foot venue features an 87-foot LED Dome with 12K resolution and stadium-style seating, aiming to transform how fans watch games. Detroit News reported that the opening drew a sold-out crowd, with Fox 2 Detroit noting the venue celebrated its grand opening on September 10 at 25 Cadillac Square.
Mayor Mary Sheffield attended the invite-only launch and called the venue a potential catalyst for downtown economic growth. Belleville News-Democrat covered the event, noting that Cosm's unique approach—using its own camera crews to produce events rather than broadcasting standard television feeds—creates a courtside experience. CEO Jeb Terry Jr. emphasized Detroit's sports culture, telling attendees: "Firstly, the fandom here is unmatched; you guys know how to cheer for your sports."
The Dome is Cosm's crown jewel—an 87-foot immersive screen wrapping around stadium-style seating where fans can order food and drinks directly to their seats via smartphone app or server. Detroit News detailed the setup, explaining how guests enjoy premium comfort during games. The adjacent Hall functions as a high-tech sports bar with 300 capacity, three bars, and wall-to-wall screens. An open-air deck overlooking downtown gives every seat a view.
Cosm's ticket pricing reveals a tiered approach. General-admission Hall access starts around $11, broadening attendance for casual fans. Premium Dome seats for major games like Lions matchups exceed $300 per ticket, capturing high-spending enthusiasts. This wide range—from budget-friendly options to luxury experiences—lets the venue serve both everyday fans and those seeking premium immersion.
Local officials view Cosm as more than entertainment—it's an economic development tool. The venue promises additional jobs, visitor traffic, and activity downtown. Fox 2 Detroit emphasized how the immersive technology, media, and entertainment concept positions Cosm as a destination anchor. The initial schedule includes NFL games, college football, U.S. Open events, and films in Cosm's proprietary "shared reality" format.
Detroit joins a growing national footprint. WXYZ reported that Cosm operates venues in Los Angeles, Dallas, and Atlanta, with Cleveland planned next. This expansion model suggests Cosm is testing a repeatable formula: immersive domes in major sports cities, each tailored to local culture and fandom. Detroit's sports loyalty made it an obvious choice for growth.
