Although Connor Leavitt and Adele Zaikman were eliminated, they were not the lowest-scoring pair based on judges’ marks alone: Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson received 10 points, compared with Leavitt and Zaikman’s 12.
Harry Shum Jr. and Jenna Johnson led the first-night leaderboard with 21 points for their cha-cha performed to Earth, Wind and Fire’s “Let’s Groove.”
After the elimination, Connor Leavitt expressed appreciation for the experience and praised Adele Zaikman as his dance partner.
The premiere’s elimination was held on Tuesday, September 15, with the second night scheduled for Wednesday, September 16, when the female celebrities were set to perform.
