Costamare Bulkers Reports Strong Cash Reserves While Betting On Market Rebound

Costamare Bulkers Holdings Limited (NYSE:CMDB) reported results for the second quarter and six-month period ended June 30, with adjusted net income of $9.8 million or $0.21 per share. The company's balance sheet now exceeds debt by $108.9 million, a milestone for a dry bulk owner barely a year removed from its spin-off from Costamare Inc. The firm entered the third quarter with $331.5 million in total liquidity, and management believes it can grow countercyclically if vessel values fall. CEO Gregory Zikos described the Capesize market as unusually volatile, with rates rising by nearly $20,000 a day through the end of June due to geopolitical uncertainty, energy market turbulence, and weather disruptions. Hedge fund interest in Costamarea Bulkers has increased, indicating a shift in institutional conviction.
