Digital Bros Announces Wuchang: Fallen Feathers Sequel with Original Director Xia Siyuan Returning to Lead

Wuchang: Fallen Feathers originally launched in July 2025.
The original game attracted more than 5 million players in its first year.
Xia Siyuan left Leenzee in February 2026, with many core developers departing from the project.
Digital Bros acquired the Wuchang IP and has full ownership as of April 27, 2026.
Indolphinity is the studio brand led by Xia Siyuan, legally registered as Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Co., Ltd., with a Digital Bros subsidiary planned in Chengdu to support development.
A sequel to Wuchang: Fallen Feathers is officially in development, led by the original game's creator Xia Siyuan at his new studio Indolphinity, according to PC Gamer and The Escapist. Publisher 505 Games will handle worldwide distribution, backed by an initial investment of €21.5 million from parent company Digital Bros.
The announcement comes after a turbulent year for the IP. The original game launched in July 2025 and drew more than 5 million players in its first year. But the original development team at Leenzee reportedly disbanded, and Xia Siyuan left in February 2026. Now he returns to lead the franchise forward under a new banner, Final Weapon reported.
Wuchang: Fallen Feathers launched in July 2025 as a Chinese-made soulslike action RPG. It pulled in more than 5 million players and generated roughly €30 million in revenue in its first eight months, according to RPGamer. That strong performance made the IP attractive enough for Digital Bros to move on acquiring it.
Digital Bros completed the acquisition of the Wuchang IP on April 27, 2026, and now holds full ownership. The company confirmed this alongside the sequel announcement. The deal sets up a long-term global franchise built around the property, according to Netto's Game Room.
Xia Siyuan departed Leenzee in February 2026. Many other core developers left with him, effectively breaking up the original team, PC Gamer reported. The split raised questions about who would carry the Wuchang franchise forward.
Xia Siyuan answered that question by founding a new studio. It is legally registered as Chengdu Recursive Dolphin Technology Co., Ltd., and operates under the brand name Indolphinity. Digital Bros also plans to open a subsidiary in Chengdu to support the team directly, according to The Escapist.
Digital Bros is putting €21.5 million into the sequel as an initial investment. That is a significant commitment for an early-stage project with no release window announced yet. The figure signals the company sees Wuchang as a major long-term franchise, not a one-off hit, Final Weapon reported.
505 Games, the publishing arm of Digital Bros, will release the sequel worldwide. The setup mirrors how the original game was published, keeping the same commercial structure while replacing the development team with Xia Siyuan's new studio, according to RPGamer.
No release window has been announced for the sequel. The original game peaked at more than 131,000 concurrent players on Steam, according to Netto's Game Room. That kind of audience gives the new project a built-in fan base to build from.
Digital Bros has framed the sequel as a globally focused franchise with Chinese creative roots at its core. Xia Siyuan's return as director keeps that vision intact. The combination of original talent, new studio infrastructure, and firm IP ownership sets the stage for a more structured second entry in the series.
