Voters are increasingly frustrated with the state of the country's political system and directing their dissatisfaction towards their own representatives, according to a new UMass Amherst poll. The poll found that only 22% of Americans approved of Congress' job, with only 3% strongly approving. The survey also found that more Americans don't approve of their own representative's job, compared to 38% who disapprove. This shift comes amid an unusually volatile year for incumbents running for reelection, with 11 House lawmakers losing primaries in a year without nationwide redistricting. The 119th Congress is also on pace to be one of the most unproductive in U.S. history in terms of laws being signed into law. The lack of legislating and partisan gridlock in Washington has led to increased frustration among voters. The desire for change in office is also increasing, with calls for term limits being the most popular answer.
