Barkov Injured in Loss

Panthers Rally Falls Short Against Sharks as Aleksander Barkov Exits With Injury

Florida Panthers captain Aleksander Barkov left the team's road game against the San Jose Sharks due to an apparent leg injury during the second period. The three-time Selke Trophy winner, who was playing his second game of the year after missing the entire 2025-26 regular season due to a torn ACL and MCL in his right knee, left the ice under his own power but angrily threw his glove off as he went to the Panthers' dressing room. Barkov was not on the team’s bench for the start of the third period. This was part of a season-ending injury-plagued year for the Panthers, which they did not make the playoffs after winning consecutive Cups.
