Kansas State Student Survives 70-Foot Fall After Jumping From Bridge

A Kansas State University junior, Kyra Kinnison, survived a 70-foot fall from a bridge after jumping off a bridge during a multi-vehicle crash on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Manhattan Fire Department responded to a crash involving four vehicles on Highway K-18 near the East Riley Avenue off-ramp in Ogden, Kansas. First responders found Kinnison standing on the shoulder before jumping from the bridge to avoid being hit by another vehicle. She was lifted from the area below the bridge using high-angle rescue equipment and transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital in critical condition. Despite suffering multiple fractures to her pelvis and back, Kinnison is expected to be okay. A GoFundMe page created by her friend, Sara Celeen, has raised over $10,000 so far.
