Kid Rock Announces First Christian Album Featuring Collaborations With Eminem and Gary LeVox

Kid Rock said the Bible verse behind the single has a personal connection: his middle name is James and his birthday is January 17.
His faith-focused version of “’Til You Can’t” also reached No. 14 on Billboard’s Hot Country Songs chart and No. 9 on its Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart.
The “James 1:17” video includes a performance by Pakistani children affiliated with Miraculous Love Kids, an organization that provides musical outreach to vulnerable young people in poverty zones.
Rock said he already has another Kid Rock album ready to follow Halfway 2 Jesus, promising “a lot of music this next year.”
Kid Rock is stepping into Christian music with his first faith-focused album, Halfway 2 Jesus, dropping October 17. The 17-track project follows his chart-topping cover of Cody Johnson's "'Til You Can't," which hit No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart. The lead single, "James 1:17 (Jesus Is King)," arrives with a personal twist — Rock's middle name is James and his birthday falls on January 17, the exact verse that inspired the song.
The music video features a revival invitation and a performance at Rock's Nashville bar, with appearances from Pakistani children affiliated with Miraculous Love Kids, an organization providing musical outreach to vulnerable youth. The song is dedicated to people significant to the project, including band keyboardist Jimmie Bones, who is battling ALS.
Kid Rock's faith-focused take on "'Til You Can't" already proved he could dominate Christian charts. The song climbed to No. 1 on Billboard's Hot Christian Songs chart, while also reaching No. 14 on the Hot Country Songs chart and No. 9 on the Hot Rock & Alternative Songs chart. This crossover success showed demand for his spiritual music across multiple genres.
Despite years of political tension, rappers Eminem and Kid Rock have reconciled to record "7 Sins" for the new album, according to Seattle Times. The collaboration marks a rare moment of unity between the two artists. Yahoo News reported that the partnership sparked backlash from some Eminem fans on Reddit, who expressed disappointment over the unexpected pairing.
Halfway 2 Jesus will blend rock, country and hip-hop across 17 tracks. Beyond Eminem, Kid Rock recruited country stars Gary LeVox and Jimmie Allen for the project. The album was born from a late-night songwriting session and promises a diverse sound that merges Rock's musical roots with his newfound Christian focus.
Rock hinted at an ambitious release schedule ahead. He said he already has another album ready to follow Halfway 2 Jesus, promising "a lot of music this next year." Fans can expect more material beyond the October 17 Christian project.
