Actor Jr NTR Vows Legal Action Against AI-Morphed Deepfake Video

Jr NTR framed the deepfake as a violation of cultural respect for women, invoking “Matrudevo Bhava” and saying the use of AI to degrade a woman was “shameful beyond words.”
NTR warned that the target of such abuse could be anyone’s family member, saying, “Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter.”
Janhvi Kapoor specifically urged people not to create or promote this material, calling it “a clear misuse of AI,” in addition to asking people not to share it.
The original “Chuttamalle” is a romantic song told from the female lead’s perspective; it was composed by Anirudh Ravichander, written by Ramajogayya Sastry and sung by Shilpa Rao.
Actor Jr NTR vowed legal action against creators of an AI-manipulated video misusing the song "Chuttamalle" from his film Devara: Part 1, which used actress Janhvi Kapoor's likeness to create sexually explicit imagery. Deccan Herald reported that NTR called the deepfake "disgusting, sick and shameless," urging the public not to view or share it while demanding stronger government safeguards against AI abuse.
Kapoor herself condemned the fake video as "a clear misuse of AI" ABP Live reported, pledging legal action alongside NTR. Both actors framed the incident as a violation of women's dignity, with NTR invoking the Sanskrit principle "Matrudevo Bhava" (mother is god) and warning that such exploitation could target anyone's family member.
Jr NTR stressed the broader danger of non-consensual AI-generated content, telling perpetrators: "Today it is someone else. Tomorrow, it could be your mother, sister, wife or daughter." Times Now News reported his message aimed to shift focus from the specific incident to systemic risk. He framed the abuse as culturally offensive in a nation that reveres women as mothers and goddesses.
NTR's response connected personal dignity to collective responsibility. He called the creators "scumbags" and promised to pursue them legally Mathrubhumi reported, signaling zero tolerance for the technology's misuse. His comments highlighted how deepfakes blur the line between technology and harassment.
The "Chuttamalle" incident reflects a growing trend of non-consensual intimate imagery generated by AI tools. Newsbytes reported NTR's condemnation framed the deepfake as deeply offensive and disgraceful. The original song is a romantic track sung from the female lead's perspective, composed by Anirudh Ravichander and sung by Shilpa Rao. Its misuse illustrates how creative work can be weaponized through AI manipulation.
Janhvi Kapoor's separate statement emphasized personal agency, urging people not to create or distribute the material. Both actors' responses signal that celebrities are mounting public resistance to deepfake abuse. Legal action alone may not stop the technology, but vocal condemnation raises awareness among viewers about the harm such content inflicts.
Beyond individual legal suits, Jr NTR demanded that governments impose stronger safeguards against AI misuse. His plea reflects frustration that existing laws lag behind technology's evolution. Deepfake tools are widely available and cheap to use, creating a gap between criminal harm and regulatory enforcement.
Both actors' unified stance—from condemnation to legal threats to policy calls—demonstrates how high-profile targets are raising the stakes for perpetrators. The case underscores the urgent need for platforms, lawmakers, and tech companies to address non-consensual deepfake content before it becomes normalized.
