Boston Women Successfully Rescue Kitten Trapped in Car Engine, Name It Infinity

Three women in Boston, Massachusetts, rescued a kitten trapped inside a car engine after hearing its faint meows on their way back to work. The women spent nearly 10 minutes taking apart parts of the vehicle to free the tiny cat, according to Atlanta News First.
Boston Animal Control confirmed the kitten appears to be in good health. The cat will still undergo a full medical exam to make sure it is okay. The three women, who own a cat themselves, have already given the kitten a nickname: Infinity — after the Infiniti car it was found in, WMBF News reported.
The women were heading back to work when they heard an unusual sound coming from a parked car. It was a kitten, crying from somewhere deep inside the engine. They stopped immediately and refused to walk away, according to Fox Carolina.
The three women got to work right away. They spent close to 10 minutes pulling at parts of the vehicle. Their goal was simple: get the kitten out safely. It was a hands-on rescue with no professional tools — just determination.
Once the kitten was free, the women came up with the perfect name. They called it Infinity — a nod to the Infiniti car where it was found. The name stuck, and the story quickly spread across the country, KKTV reported.
The women already have a cat at home, so they knew just how to handle the scared animal. Their experience with pets likely made them more comfortable jumping in to help rather than waiting on the sidelines.
After the rescue, Boston Animal Control stepped in to check on the kitten. Officials confirmed that the cat appears to be fine. However, a full medical exam is still planned to rule out any hidden injuries from its time in the engine, WNDU reported.
Kittens can sometimes crawl into warm car engines seeking shelter, especially in cooler weather. This makes them hard to spot and puts them at serious risk once the car starts. Quick action from bystanders, like these three women, can make all the difference.
