Naughty Dog has released a free animated The Last of Us background for the PS5 Welcome Hub ahead of the franchise’s main The Last of Us Day 2026 celebration on September 28. The artwork features younger and older versions of Ellie alongside imagery from the games, and players can select it from the Welcome Hub’s Games backgrounds. Naughty Dog has teased a partnership announcement, a collaboration, digital surprises and other franchise updates, along with a No Return charity stream on Twitch. The studio has not announced The Last of Us Part III, and the promised updates do not confirm a new game.
