Janus Henderson Increases Stakes Across Five Firms Amid Insider Sales

Palantir insider Ryan D. Taylor sold 19,662 shares on May 20 at an average price of $136.04, for a total transaction of $2,674,818.48, as Janus Henderson increased its Palantir stake to 3,323,141 shares (about $480.25 million).
GE Vernova CEO Victor Abate sold 4,819 shares on June 1 at an average price of $948.08, totaling roughly $4.56 million, amid Janus Henderson's expanded position in the company.
Vaxcyte CEO Grant Pickering sold 22,461 shares on June 18 at $52.50 per share, for a total of about $1,179,202.50, within Janus Henderson’s larger stake in the company (16,575,875 shares held after the quarter).
Auto Owners Insurance Co boosted its GE Vernova position by 110,973.4% in the fourth quarter, now owning 34,858,156 shares valued at approximately $2.28 billion.
Janus Henderson Group PLC expanded its equity holdings across five companies in the first quarter of 2025, adding to positions in Palantir Technologies, GE Vernova, APi Group, Vaxcyte, and Globus Medical. The moves span three sectors — technology, industrials, and life sciences — and reflect a broad push by the asset manager to deepen its exposure to high-growth firms, according to Watchlist News and Ticker Report.
The firm's five expanded positions together represent billions in market value. Its largest single bet is on GE Vernova, where its roughly 1.52 million shares are worth about $1.32 billion.
Janus Henderson now holds 3,323,141 shares of Palantir Technologies, worth roughly $480 million, according to Watchlist News. Its APi Group stake is the largest by share count — over 23.3 million shares valued at about $947 million. The firm also owns 16.6 million shares of Vaxcyte, worth close to $960 million, and 7.6 million shares of Globus Medical, valued near $657 million.
Each position grew by at least 1% during the quarter. APi Group saw a 1.1% increase, per Watchlist News. These are not small tweaks — at these share counts, even a 1% boost adds millions of dollars in new exposure.
While Janus Henderson was buying, company insiders were selling. Palantir's Ryan D. Taylor sold 19,662 shares on May 20 at $136.04 per share, collecting about $2.67 million. GE Vernova CEO Victor Abate sold 4,819 shares on June 1 at $948.08 each, totaling roughly $4.56 million. Vaxcyte CEO Grant Pickering sold 22,461 shares on June 18 at $52.50, bringing in about $1.18 million.
Insider sales do not always signal trouble. Executives often sell shares for personal financial planning. But the timing — overlapping with Janus Henderson's buying — shows two groups reading the same companies in very different ways.
Janus Henderson is not alone. Auto Owners Insurance Co made a stunning move into GE Vernova in the fourth quarter, boosting its position by 110,973.4%. It now holds 34,858,156 shares worth about $2.28 billion. That is one of the largest single-quarter position increases seen among institutional investors in recent memory.
Hedge funds and institutional investors together hold majority stakes in all five companies. That level of institutional ownership tends to bring more stability — and more scrutiny — to a stock's price. It also signals that large, sophisticated money managers see long-term value in these names.
Janus Henderson's Q1 moves were not limited to these five firms. The asset manager also grew its stake in Willis Towers Watson by 1.0%, now holding 903,762 shares, per Watchlist News. It increased its Vanguard Total International Stock ETF holdings by 11.8% to nearly 3 million shares, and boosted its Ares Management stake by 43.8% to 1.65 million shares, according to Ticker Report.
The pattern is clear. Janus Henderson is spreading its bets across tech, energy infrastructure, industrials, biotech, and global equities all at once. It is a strategy built on width as much as depth — owning more of more things rather than concentrating heavily in any one area.
