Reid Had Already Been Charged With Raping a Child in 2021
Before the hit-and-run, Reid was already in serious legal trouble. In April, he was charged with rape, sexual assault, and corruption of a minor. The charges stem from an alleged 2021 incident involving a juvenile male. An outstanding warrant from those charges was what first put law enforcement on his trail, according to Philly Voice.
The U.S. Marshals were originally hunting Reid for the sex crimes case when they connected him to the Kelly Drive crash. The two investigations became linked as evidence mounted. Hit-and-run charges were still being prepared as of his arrest, NBC Philadelphia reported.
