Teenage Girl Killed in Highgate Crash as Police Arrest 68-Year-Old Driver

A 16-year-old Year 12 pupil at Highgate School died after being struck by a car on North Road in Highgate, north London, while travelling to school. Emergency services attended at about 8:10 a.m., and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The 68-year-old driver remained at the scene and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. Addison Lee said the vehicle was part of its fleet. Police said the girl’s family was being supported and that enquiries were ongoing; road closures were in place and the public was asked to avoid the area.
