The real-world fund was launched by Heated Rivalry executive producers Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady through their production company, Accent Aigu Entertainment.
The more than $1.5 million in recent fundraising cited by Accent Aigu has benefited organizations including You Can Play, the New York LGBTQ Center and Rainbow Railroad.
The launch coincided with production beginning in Canada on the series’ second season; Deadline reported that the season is set to premiere in spring 2027.
The producers behind the acclaimed series Heated Rivalry have launched the Irina Foundation, bringing a fictional charitable fund to life. Deadline reported that executive producers Jacob Tierney and Brendan Brady created the real-world nonprofit through their production company, Accent Aigu Entertainment, inspired by the fund established by characters Shane Hollander and Ilya Rozanov in Rachel Reid's books.
The foundation will support organizations promoting mental well-being, inclusion, and connection through sports and the arts, with a focus on LGBTQIA2S+ and underserved communities. Page Six noted that Kate Spade New York is the inaugural donor, while Harry's serves as an early supporter. The initiative builds on more than $1.5 million raised by the show's company, partners, and fans for related organizations in recent months.
The foundation carries the name Irina, honoring the late mother of character Ilya Rozanov in Rachel Reid's Heated Rivalry novels. Gayety explained that the real-world fund mirrors the charitable mission established by the fictional characters in the book series. This direct connection between fiction and reality creates a meaningful bridge for fans of the romantic sports novels.
Kate Spade New York stepped up as the inaugural donor, making a significant commitment to launch the foundation. Page Six reported that Harry's joined as an early supporter of the initiative. These corporate partners demonstrate strong alignment with the foundation's mission to serve LGBTQIA2S+ communities and underserved populations through sports and arts programming.
The foundation builds on substantial fundraising momentum already generated by the Heated Rivalry production. Over $1.5 million has been raised recently by the show's company, partners, and fans for LGBTQ+ organizations. Deadline noted that this money has benefited groups including You Can Play, the New York LGBTQ Center, and Rainbow Railroad, establishing the foundation's track record before its official launch.
The foundation announcement coincides with major news for the show itself. Deadline reported that production on Heated Rivalry's second season has begun in Canada, with the new season set to premiere in spring 2027. The timing connects the show's continued success with its real-world charitable impact on LGBTQ+ communities and mental health causes.
