Multiple children are seriously injured after being struck by vehicles across Ireland and Scotland.

Gardaí and emergency services were at the scene of the Rathkeale collision, which police described as a “serious road traffic collision.”
The Newry collision occurred in the Drumbrae area on Chancellors Road, close to St Moninna’s Primary School; police are asking witnesses to quote reference number 997 of 04/09/26 when contacting 101.
The Air Ambulance was also tasked to the Newry scene, alongside the Northern Ireland Ambulance Service, while police continue to establish the circumstances of the collision.
West Main Street in Armadale was closed for several hours after the collision outside Armadale Academy, and the Scottish Ambulance Service said it dispatched a critical-care paramedic and an ambulance.
