GMI Cloud Secures $668 Million in Financing to Expand Global AI Infrastructure

GMI’s Taiwan AI Factory is planned for Taoyuan: the company announced a $500 million data center there, targeting about 7,000 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs across 96 racks and roughly 16MW of power, with the cluster to be housed in a Vantage Data Centers facility.
GMI Cloud’s contracted ARR has surpassed $600 million, according to the financing analysis—an absolute figure that adds context to the reported growth multiples.
The Series B drew participation from several Asia-Pacific investors, including DSC Investment, Trend Micro, KB Investment, Kyobo Life and KT Corporation.
GMI CEO Alex Yeh said customers “are scaling faster than ever, and they need infrastructure that keeps pace,” describing reliable compute as the foundation of AI.
GMI Cloud announced $668 million in financing to expand its AI infrastructure across the US, Taiwan, and Asia-Pacific. The round includes $223 million in Series B equity led by ARCHIV and a $445 million credit facility from Taiwanese bank CTBC, with Data Center Dynamics reporting NVIDIA among the equity participants.
The company's contracted annual recurring revenue has surpassed $600 million, growing more than ninefold since year-end 2025, while its inference platform now processes roughly 4 trillion tokens weekly. BizTech Weekly notes the real challenge lies in converting customer demand into reliable, profitable operations through large-scale GPU deployment.
GMI Cloud plans a $500 million data center in Taoyuan, Taiwan, housing approximately 7,000 NVIDIA GB300 GPUs across 96 racks. The facility, operated in partnership with Vantage Data Centers, will consume roughly 16 megawatts of power. The Next Web reports this investment underscores GMI's focus on expanding compute capacity in Asia-Pacific markets where customer demand is accelerating.
GMI Cloud serves major AI platforms including Fireworks, OpenRouter, and Trend Micro. CEO Alex Yeh stated that customers "are scaling faster than ever, and they need infrastructure that keeps pace," emphasizing reliable compute as foundational to AI operations. The AI Insider notes Series B investors include Asia-Pacific players like DSC Investment, KB Investment, Kyobo Life, and KT Corporation.
The $668 million package splits into equity and credit components. The $223 million Series B equity round funds long-term GPU expansion, while the $445 million credit facility from CTBC provides working capital for near-term capacity buildout. World Business Outlook reports this dual-tranche approach lets GMI scale infrastructure without diluting existing shareholders excessively.
GMI's production revenue grew more than 4.5-fold from year-end 2025 levels, yet deploying tens of thousands of GPUs, managing power infrastructure, and staffing operations at this scale presents substantial operational risk. BizTech Weekly emphasizes that converting contracted revenue into profitable, reliable operations across multiple geographies will determine whether this funding translates into sustainable growth.
