Ondo Finance Unveils New Network for Fast, Non-Custodial Perpetual Futures Trading

Ondo Network records core state changes as signed logs that authorized auditors and counterparties can replay to verify that the approved rules were followed.
Execution currently runs through a single high-performance secure environment, with multiple attestors controlling code approval and key access; Ondo plans to expand the model with a larger attestor set.
Ondo Perps is the first application on the network, offering 24/7 perpetual futures on equities and commodities with tokenized real-world assets as collateral.
The verification mechanism relies on a decentralized network of attestors to determine which code the secure enclaves may run, enabling verifiable fairness and privacy-enabled-by-default execution.
ONDO will continue to serve as the governance and incentive token as the network gradually decentralizes, coordinating incentives for validator nodes, observers, and ecosystem participants.
Ondo Finance launched the Ondo Network on July 27, a new execution layer built to match the speed of centralized exchanges while keeping users in control of their own assets. CoinGape and Yahoo Finance both reported the launch, describing it as a system that splits execution, verification, and settlement into separate layers — a sharp break from the traditional blockchain model.
The network's first live product is Ondo Perps, a perpetual futures platform for equities and commodities that runs 24/7 and accepts tokenized real-world assets as collateral. Crypto Briefing called the launch "an evolution" of Ondo's earlier plan to build a full blockchain for real-world assets.
Ondo originally planned to build a standalone blockchain called Ondo Chain. The company walked away from that idea. According to Blockster, Ondo chose an "execution network" instead — a model that separates the act of running trades from the act of recording and verifying them. The goal is raw speed without sacrificing transparency.
Settlement happens on Ethereum right now, with more blockchains planned later. Core state changes are saved as signed logs. Authorized auditors and counterparties can replay those logs to confirm the rules were followed. That means every trade is checkable — without the slowdown of a traditional blockchain.
Execution runs inside a single high-performance secure environment called a hardware-isolated enclave. Think of it as a locked room where code runs — no one can tamper with what happens inside. A decentralized network of attestors decides which code the enclave is allowed to run, and they control key access.
Crypto Times noted that this setup gives the network "verifiable fairness" — meaning users can confirm the system played by the rules, even though the execution itself stays private. Ondo plans to expand the attestor set over time to make the system more decentralized.
Ondo Perps is the first app built on the new network. It offers perpetual futures — contracts with no expiry date — on equities and commodities. Traders can use tokenized real-world assets as collateral. The platform runs 24/7, unlike traditional stock markets that close nights and weekends.
Yahoo Finance reported that the system is designed to deliver "CEX-level speeds with non-custodial, onchain-verifiable settlement." That means trades execute as fast as a centralized exchange like Binance, but users never hand over control of their funds. Ondo's leadership said the goal is efficiency and privacy — not building rival blockchains.
The ONDO token stays at the center of the ecosystem. It serves as both a governance token — letting holders vote on rules — and an incentive token that rewards validator nodes, observers, and other participants. Crypto Times described the launch as "a strategic shift" toward building full execution infrastructure, not just issuing assets.
Ondo's leadership says future products will include spot trading, lending, and other high-performance financial tools. The network is live now but will grow more decentralized over time as the attestor set expands and more settlement chains are added.
