The sequel offers nine romance routes tied to nine love interests. Two of those routes continue directly from the Heavenly and Godly Endings of the first 9 R.I.P., Digitally Downloaded notes. New sub-characters also appear, adding story content that did not exist in the original.
The story explores romance, supernatural ties, and the consequences of Misa's past choices. A new promotional trailer released alongside the announcement shows CG artwork and voiced scenes, according to Noisy Pixel.
The Limited Edition includes a bonus 9-card trading card pack. That pack contains 1 holographic card and 8 regular finish cards, according to GoNintendo. Both Standard and Limited editions are available for pre-order ahead of the October release.
Netto's Game Room confirmed the game can be purchased digitally or physically. Collectors chasing the full package will need to act early, as limited print runs are common for Idea Factory International titles.
Amon is directing the western release. Yuuya returns as the illustrator and character designer, keeping the visual style consistent with the first game. The Japanese version launched in September 2025, meaning western fans wait just over a year for their version.
Idea Factory International is marketing the title under the tagline 'Back from the Dead,' a nod to the supernatural themes running through the series. Archynetys notes the late October timing puts the release just before Halloween, a fitting window for a horror-tinged romance game.
