Doosan Enerbility Ships First Korean-Made Gas Turbine to SpaceXAI for U.S. Infrastructure

Doosan Enerbility localized large power-generation gas turbines in 2019, becoming the fifth company worldwide to secure the technology; the turbines have since undergone about 17,000 hours of demonstration operation.
Doosan has signed contracts to supply 12 gas turbines to U.S. companies, with industry estimates indicating that five are for SpaceXAI.
A previously announced contract for five turbines with a U.S. big-tech company was not publicly identified at the time; its value was estimated to exceed 400 billion won. The buyer was later understood to be SpaceXAI after Elon Musk confirmed the purchase, according to the report.
Doosan Enerbility, a South Korean manufacturer, has shipped its first domestically made large-scale gas turbine to the United States. The 380-megawatt turbine is headed to SpaceXAI, Elon Musk's AI infrastructure company. GuruFocus reports this marks a historic moment — the first Korean-made gas turbine of this size ever exported to America.
The company developed the turbine technology in-house in 2019, becoming only the fifth company worldwide to achieve this capability. Doosan has already signed contracts to supply 12 gas turbines to U.S. companies, with five going to SpaceXAI as demand for reliable power surges alongside AI data center growth.
Doosan's achievement fills a significant gap in global manufacturing. When the company localized large gas turbine technology in 2019, only four other manufacturers worldwide had cracked the code. BigGo Finance notes the DGT6-300H turbine has logged roughly 17,000 hours of successful demonstration operation, proving its reliability before export.
The turbine contract with SpaceXAI was part of a larger agreement previously valued at over 400 billion won (roughly $300 million USD). Chosun Biz reports the original deal wasn't publicly named at announcement, but Elon Musk later confirmed SpaceXAI as the buyer, connecting the puzzle pieces for investors and industry watchers.
Tech giants building massive AI data centers need massive amounts of power. Doosan is positioning itself as a trusted supplier for this growing demand. With 12 turbines now under contract for U.S. firms, the company sees an opportunity to expand its footprint in North America and become a go-to turbine maker for the world's largest technology companies.
