Abu Dhabi Announces Massive Indoor Harry Potter Expansion Featuring Three Distinct Lands

The project was initially announced in 2022 as a single Harry Potter-themed land, but has since been expanded into three separate lands—representing a significant scale-up of the original plan.
The new development will add to Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s existing six themed lands: Warner Bros Plaza, Bedrock, Dynamite Gulch, Cartoon Junction, Gotham City and Metropolis.
The Abu Dhabi Harry Potter expansion will be entirely indoors and air-conditioned, which operators describe as a distinctive feature suited to the emirate’s climate; Miral CEO Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi called it “the only indoor Harry Potter land around the world.”
Harry Potter was selected after Miral surveyed customers internationally about which Warner Bros. intellectual property they most wanted to see at the park; the franchise ultimately ranked ahead of a second shortlisted option.
Miral’s Mohamed Abdalla Al Zaabi said the project is expected to be “one of the largest Harry Potter expansions around the world,” emphasizing the level of detail, theming, surprises and experiences planned for visitors.
Abu Dhabi is building three massive Harry Potter themed lands at Warner Bros. World, covering 63,000 square meters of entirely air-conditioned indoor space Vital Thrills. Diagon Alley, Hogwarts, and the Forbidden Forest are slated to open by 2029, nearly doubling the park's current size and bringing Hogwarts Castle and Diagon Alley together in one location for the first time Attractions Magazine.
The project marks a major step in Abu Dhabi's push to become a global tourism hub. It will feature rides and experiences designed exclusively for the region and will be the first permanent Harry Potter attraction in the Middle East outside Universal-operated parks Blooloop.
