Institutional Investors Significantly Increase Their Financial Stakes Across Four Major Gold-Mining ETFs

Other investors made sizable additions to the VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF: Eschler Asset Management increased its position by 258.5% to 200,000 shares, while DV Trading expanded its holdings by 285.3% to 18,041 shares.
Several institutions opened new positions in the junior-miners ETF, including HSBC Holdings, which acquired a stake valued at $866,000, and WESPAC Advisors SoCal, which purchased shares worth approximately $996,000.
The broader VanEck Gold Miners ETF attracted major new institutional commitments, including $218.97 million from Caisse de depot et placement du Quebec, $101.98 million from the Healthcare of Ontario Pension Plan Trust Fund and $84.87 million from OMERS Administration.
The VanEck Gold Miners ETF seeks to track the price and yield performance of the MarketVector Global Gold Miners Index; it had a reported market capitalization of $29.30 billion, a price-to-earnings ratio of 21.70 and a beta of 0.70.
The junior-miners ETF is designed to provide exposure to a global universe of publicly traded small- and medium-capitalization gold and silver mining companies by tracking the Market Vectors Junior Gold Miners Index before fees and expenses.
Institutional investors are betting big on gold mining. During the second quarter, multiple large financial firms ramped up their stakes in gold-mining exchange-traded funds, signaling renewed confidence in the sector. TickerReport reported that Concurrent Investment Advisors boosted its VanEck Junior Gold Miners ETF position by 73.5% to 12,375 shares, while several other major institutions made aggressive moves across four separate gold funds.
