The Minnesota Vikings are re-signing safety and franchise legend Harrison Smith for the 2026 season, according to a league source. Smith, who will return for his 15th season on a one-year, $12.25 million deal with incentives up to $16.25 $16 million, is expected to build on his exceptional end to last season. The Vikings needed Smith due to the current health issues surrounding their safety room, including injuries to key safeties Theo Jackson, Jakobe Thomas, and Jacob Thomas. Smith's presence will allow continuity on defense as the team navigates a salary-cap deficit. Smith has played in 207 games for the Vikings and is the NFL's active leader in interceptions with 39.
