Police Investigate Circumstances Surrounding Death of Social Media Star Nidhi Tiwari

Nidhi Tiwari, a 30-year-old content creator from Singrauli, Madhya Pradesh, has died; Indian media have described her death as an apparent suicide, but police have cautioned against speculation while investigating. She had about 1.6 million followers across Facebook and Instagram and won the Miss Pretty India title in 2024 while pursuing modelling and acting. Her final Facebook post about self-love drew attention and condolences from followers. Her family said she had been speaking to someone by phone shortly beforehand. Police are examining call records, digital activity and other evidence to establish what happened.
News18 reported that Tiwari’s family said she had been speaking by phone to a man reportedly based in Delhi and alleged that an argument took place. The family also said she later went to her room, locked the door, and asked her mother to leave her alone; these are family claims, not police findings.
Reports said family members found Tiwari unresponsive and rushed her to hospital, where doctors declared her dead. Gulf News reported that she was found hanging at her home.
Local reports said Tiwari hoped to enter the film industry and pursued opportunities through modelling, events and digital content creation.
Morwa police station in-charge Dr Gyanendra Singh said investigators were gathering information from Tiwari’s family, acquaintances and others connected to the case.
