California couple appear in court accused of fatally shooting their son-in-law

Shouyong Zhang and Shili Chen, both 77, are accused of murdering their son-in-law, Jonathan McKinsey, in a Bay Area park. McKinsey was found dead with multiple gunshot wounds in a parking lot in Dublin, Calif., about 35 miles east of downtown San Francisco. The charges include a special circumstance of "lying in wait," indicating that Zhang and Chen planned the killing and waited for the moment to act. If convicted, they could face a life sentence without parole. Zhang and Ms. Chen live in Dublin and are the parents of McKinsey's wife, with whom he had three young children.
