Five Japanese companies reported first-quarter results for the period ended June 30, 2026, with profits ranging from modest declines to near-triple-digit gains. The standout performer was Morningstar Japan, whose net profit surged roughly 177% year-over-year to 1.39 billion yen, according to MarketWatch. At the other end, Yokogawa Bridge Holdings saw net profit fall to 419 million yen from 732 million yen a year earlier.
Kanagawa Chuo Kotsu posted the highest absolute net profit of the group at 1.71 billion yen, up from 1.53 billion yen a year ago. Daito Chemix nearly tripled its net profit from 112 million yen to 302 million yen. Komatsu Wall Industry also raised its annual dividend guidance to 135 yen per share, up from 130 yen.
Morningstar Japan was the clear winner of the quarter. Its net profit jumped from 501 million yen to 1.39 billion yen, a gain of roughly 178%, according to MarketWatch. Operating profit soared even more dramatically, rising from 513 million yen to 2.66 billion yen. Pretax profit climbed from 793 million yen to 2.70 billion yen.
Revenue came in at 12.82 billion yen for the quarter. Earnings per share reached 10.06 yen, with a diluted figure of 10.03 yen. The scale of the profit jump suggests a major shift in the company's underlying business performance rather than a one-time boost.

Operating profit held mostly flat at about 1.13 billion yen, which suggests the drop came from items below the operating line — such as taxes or one-time costs. Revenue for the quarter was 41.20 billion yen, the largest top line among the five companies reported.
