Samsung Plans to Bring Privacy Display Technology to Galaxy S27 Pro and Ultra

Samsung’s Galaxy S27 lineup is reportedly planned to include five models—the Galaxy S27, S27+, S27 Pro, S27 Ultra and S27 FE. Four models are expected in early 2027, while the FE could arrive later in the year.
Flex Magic Pixel works by placing a tall black matrix over portions of the OLED pixels, creating a barrier that prevents light from traveling sideways and narrows the screen’s viewing angle.
The reported S27 Pro and Ultra displays may also use Samsung’s Color Filter-on-Encapsulation technology. COE removes the conventional polarizer and integrates polarization into the thin-film encapsulation, freeing space for the taller black matrix required by Flex Magic Pixel.
The S27 Pro and Ultra are reportedly expected to share a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, a 200-megapixel main camera and a 16-megapixel front camera; the Ultra may mainly distinguish itself through a larger design and S Pen support.
Samsung’s possible move to a two-model rollout follows an earlier report that all four main Galaxy S27 models could receive Privacy Display, with the broader plan potentially raising component costs and affecting consumer prices.
