Zelda Anniversary Celebrations Bring New Merchandise and Art Book Delays

Takara Tomy plans to release a Legend of Zelda Historical Charms+ gachapon collection in Japan in October 2026, featuring Triforce-shaped metal charms based on 12 games, at about 300 yen each; no international release has been announced. Nintendo’s 40th-anniversary celebrations also include more than 70 items arriving at Animate stores in Japan on October 2, with a six-bookmark set available to shoppers who spend 5,500 yen at the associated fair. Dark Horse postponed the English edition of Tears of the Kingdom—Secrets of the Zonai from October 2026 to March 30, 2027, citing its efforts to meet quality standards; the book is planned to include development material and lore, with additional collectibles in a premium edition. The 2019 Link’s Awakening remake’s toy-like visual style is also noted as an influence on Echoes of Wisdom and, reportedly, the upcoming Ocarina of Time remake.
The Animate merchandise lineup includes 15 aurora-effect acrylic stands: six characters from Breath of the Wild and nine from Tears of the Kingdom, including Ganondorf and King Rauru. Each stand is priced at 2,200 yen.
Other items in the Animate collection include Korok curtain tassels or curtains and Zelda-themed nail stickers featuring motifs such as the Triforce and Master Sword.
The Animate Fair is scheduled to run from October 2, 2026, through January 11, 2027; qualifying purchases earn one of two six-bookmark sets, themed around Breath of the Wild or Tears of the Kingdom.
The book’s Hero’s Edition is described as including an exclusive cover, an art print of Link and the Sages, a cloth map of the Depths, and a replica of Princess Zelda’s Tear.
