College Football Recaps Assess Team Grades, Player Rankings, and Poll Movements

Baylor beat Colorado after an uneven offensive showing, with DJ Lagway throwing for 221 yards and a touchdown and Dawson Pendergrass adding 85 rushing yards; Colorado benched Julian Lewis at halftime. Tennessee lost to Texas, and its offensive line was heavily criticized after allowing 10 sacks, while its other position groups also drew mixed assessments. Rutgers earned its first win of the season, routing Howard 58-7, and three Scarlet Knights offensive linemen received PFF Big Ten Team of the Week honors. Texas Tech improved to 4-0 with a 49-14 win over Sam Houston State but stayed at No. 10 in the Coaches Poll; Houston and Utah moved up, while Penn State fell eight places.
Baylor's PFF grades placed four safeties among the team's top 10 performers. Right tackle Cole Rhett also increased his playing time from six snaps the previous week to more than 31.
Tennessee used both George MacIntyre and Faizon Brandon at quarterback against Texas. The position-group assessment said Brandon was solid given limited resources, while the running backs struggled to find space.
The three Rutgers linemen named to PFF's Big Ten Team of the Week were left tackle Chris Vigna, right guard Kwabena Asamoah and right tackle Moshood Giwa; all three started against Howard.
Texas Tech running back Cameron Dickey scored twice and gained 88 yards on 11 carries against Sam Houston State.
UCLA and Florida made the poll's biggest climbs, each rising 14 places. Texas Tech's next game was scheduled on the road against Colorado, with kickoff at 6:30 p.m. Central on FOX.
