Giants Surrender Five Home Runs in 10-6 Loss to Mets
The Giants lost 10-6 to the New York Mets, marking their first time since April 29, 2023 that they gave up at least five home runs in a single game. The loss was particularly frustrating as the team's pitching staff essentially beat itself. Three of New York's five home home runs were from rookie left-hander Matt Wilkinson, who allowed seven runs (four earned) over three innings. The other two were from fellow rookie Yunior Marte, who also allowed three runs over five innings. First baseman Rafael Devers had a standout game, scoring 33rd home run of the season with two doubles and setting a season high of five RBIs.
