Zac Brown Band Gifts Every Fenway Concertgoer a Free Cruise in Historic $40 Million Giveaway

Zac Brown said, "Tonight we’re going to do something that even Jimmy (Buffett) would say is crazy. I’m buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat."
The Margaritaville at Sea Beachcomber is set to launch in January 2027 out of Miami and will include an on-board 'Same Boat' live music venue that is artist-curated by Zac Brown.
The giveaway is valued at over $40 million and described as the largest audience giveaway in live entertainment history, with vouchers redeemable on Margaritaville at Sea sailings over the next year.
Coverage varied on how many cruises are awarded per stop: some reports describe four cruises per night, while others specify four cruises per show.
A video tribute to Jimmy Buffett was shown before the announcement, linking the giveaway to Buffett’s Margaritaville legacy and the collaboration with Margaritaville at Sea.
Zac Brown Band stunned roughly 37,000 fans at Fenway Park on Sunday by giving every single attendee a free cruise for two — a giveaway valued at over $40 million, according to Country Rebel and Whiskey Riff. It is being called the largest audience giveaway in live entertainment history.
The surprise came at the band's 15th consecutive sold-out show at the Boston ballpark. Before playing his song "Same Boat," Zac Brown told the crowd, "Tonight we're going to do something that even Jimmy would say is crazy. I'm buying every single person here a cruise for two people on the boat," Boston.com reported.
Each attendee received a voucher for two passengers to sail on Margaritaville at Sea, according to The Music Universe. The vouchers are redeemable on sailings over the next year. Brown personally covered the full cost of the giveaway, which topped $40 million.
The announcement was paired with a video tribute to the late Jimmy Buffett, whose Margaritaville brand is central to the partnership. The tribute linked Brown's gesture directly to Buffett's legacy and their longtime friendship, Head Topics noted.
The giveaway is tied to a broader deal between Zac Brown Band and Margaritaville at Sea. The cruise line's new ship, the Beachcomber, is set to launch in January 2027 out of Miami. It will feature an on-board live music venue called "Same Boat," curated by Brown himself, according to Whiskey Riff.
Margaritaville at Sea CEO Christopher Ivy called the collaboration a once-in-a-lifetime gesture to thank fans. The partnership connects Brown's touring world directly to the Margaritaville brand that Buffett built.
The Fenway show is not the only stop with cruise giveaways. During Brown's ongoing Love & Fear tour, four cruises per show have been given away to select fans at various stops, The Music Universe reported. The Fenway night scaled that up dramatically — from four vouchers to over 37,000.
The plan is to keep offering similar giveaways at select tour stops as the partnership with Margaritaville at Sea continues to unfold, according to Country Rebel. Brown's team has not yet announced which future shows will include the giveaways.
Sunday's show marked Fenway Park's 15th straight sellout for Zac Brown Band, according to Boston.com. That streak puts the band in rare company at one of the most iconic venues in American sports. The capacity crowd of more than 37,500 made the giveaway's scale even harder to believe.
The combination — a record-breaking milestone and a $40 million surprise gift — turned a regular tour stop into a moment fans are unlikely to forget. "Same Boat" hit differently that night.
