Monorale AI Completes Initial £250,000 SEIS Round, Moves Towards £4 Million Goal

Monorale AI has closed the first stage of its fundraising drive, completing a £250,000 raise under the UK's Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme (SEIS) with backing from around 40 investors, according to PR Record Gazette. The startup now moves into the next phase, targeting the remaining £3.75 million under the Enterprise Investment Scheme (EIS).
Founded in 2025, Monorale is building a multi-model AI platform — a single environment where individuals and organisations can access and manage multiple AI tools at once. The full £4 million round will fund product development, enterprise growth, and international expansion, Barchart reported.
SEIS stands for Seed Enterprise Investment Scheme. It is a UK government programme that gives tax breaks to people who back very early-stage startups. Investors can claim back up to 50% of what they put in as income tax relief. EIS, the Enterprise Investment Scheme, offers similar but slightly smaller benefits for later-stage raises.
Monorale secured roughly 40 investors in the SEIS stage alone. That base of backers signals early confidence in the platform. The company now opens the larger £3.75 million EIS tranche to new investors, according to Recorder.
The AI tools market is crowded. Businesses often juggle a dozen different models and services with no unified way to manage them. Monorale says its platform solves that. It gives users one place to access, compare, and run multiple AI models at the same time, according to Pembroke Observer.
The company is also building infrastructure to serve larger commercial and regulated organisations — industries like finance, law, and healthcare that require stricter data controls. That push into enterprise territory is a key part of why the firm needs the full £4 million, Owen Sound Sun Times reported.
Monorale plans to split the funds across three main areas: product development, expansion of its enterprise offering, and international growth. The company was only founded in 2025, making this raise its first major external funding milestone, according to County Market.
Building the infrastructure to serve regulated industries takes significant investment. Compliance, security, and data management all add cost. Monorale says the capital will let it move faster on all three fronts while laying the groundwork for larger commercial contracts, Barchart noted.
Monorale is entering a market that is moving at a rapid pace. New AI models launch almost every week. The company is betting that businesses will pay for simplicity — one platform instead of many. The £250,000 SEIS close is a small but real first proof point for that thesis, according to PR Record Gazette.
The EIS phase now open could attract a wider pool of investors looking for tax-efficient exposure to early AI companies. Whether Monorale hits its £3.75 million target will be a key test of appetite for early-stage AI infrastructure bets in the current market, Recorder reported.
