Wheel of Fortune Announcer Jim Thornton Fired After Chat Room Investigation

"Wheel of Fortune" announcer Jim Thornton has been terminated by Sony Pictures Television, effective immediately, following an investigation into allegations of pedophilia in a chat room. The company, which produces "Wheel of Fort," suspended Thornton on Tuesday amid an ongoing investigation into the allegations. The photos reportedly show Thornton on his laptop visiting a support chat room for "people who are attracted to children" on a flight. Thornton's attorney stated that he was not involved in any illegal conduct and has not been charged with any crime. Thornton had previously served as a "Wheel" host since 2011.
