Motorcycle Rider Arrested Following Fatal Pedestrian Crash in Fort Wayne

San Jose police said the crash occurred around 7:50 p.m. on Sept. 13 near South King Road and Biscayne Way; the vehicle was a northbound 2014 Chevrolet SS.
The San Jose death was the city’s 39th traffic fatality of 2026; at the same point the previous year, police had investigated 27 traffic deaths on city streets.
In Springfield, police said Thomas Gum was crossing Old Keene Mill Road from north to south toward Backlick Road shortly before 8:20 p.m. when an eastbound white SUV struck him; he was pronounced dead at a hospital.
In the Mt. Healthy crash, the pedestrian was struck near Hamilton Avenue and Ronald Reagan Cross County Highway at about 11:30 a.m.; the driver was also taken to a hospital, though authorities had not reported the driver's condition.
Fort Wayne police said Quincy A. English was booked into the Allen County Jail and also faced preliminary charges of criminal recklessness and obstruction of justice.
