CBS12 reported that officers found Doherty with what appeared to be a cut on his cheek, visible in photographs accompanying the arrest report. The woman at the scene told police she was not harmed during the physical altercation.

November 2025 Case Led to Diversion Program

Doherty's current arrest follows an earlier incident in Miami Beach where he was accused of drug possession and resisting police while allegedly obstructing traffic to film content. Local10 noted that a search of Doherty uncovered amphetamine and marijuana. The cannabis charge was later dropped, leaving only the drug possession count.

Instead of facing trial, Doherty entered a diversion agreement that required him to waive his right to a speedy trial and complete community-program conditions. After successfully finishing the program requirements, the court issued a final discharge certificate in late 2025, clearing the charges without a conviction on his record.

Self-Defense Claim Disputed by Authorities

Doherty's legal team asserted that he acted in self-defense during Friday's confrontation, but Palm Beach Post reported that police had not confirmed that account at the time of arrest.
