Civil trial for White Sox stadium shooting is scheduled to begin in January

A civil trial in a shooting at a Chicago White Sox home game in August 2023 is set to begin on Jan. 4. The shooting, which left two women injured, has been ongoing for more than three years. The women allege the gunfire occurred inside the stadium during the fourth inning. The White Sox deny these claims, citing findings from the Chicago Police Department that the bullet originated from outside the Ballpark. Several depositions have taken place, including that of White Sox Chairman Jerry Reinsdorf and the team’s director of event security. The Chicago Police Dept. previously received a subpoena to allow for the inspection of evidence collected at the crime scene, including a bullet fragment, blood swabs and clothing worn by a Jane Doe.
