Capcom Plans Unlimited Free Character Edits

Character Edit Vouchers will remain usable for players who already own them until the Ascendance-related system update arrives in 2027, even though new sales will end on December 3, 2026.
Before the policy change, additional editing vouchers cost $6.99 for a three-voucher pack, while a combined three-pack for the hunter and Palico cost $9.99.
The UI overhaul will let players move the in-game clock to the top-left beside the health and stamina bars and replace the reactive squiggle indicator with a clearer line modeled on earlier Monster Hunter games.
Capcom said previously purchased vouchers will not be refunded; instead, eligible players will receive the pendant set, whose Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar pendants may later be offered separately.
Capcom is eliminating paid Character Edit Vouchers from Monster Hunter Wilds, letting players freely change their hunter and Palico appearances once the Ascendance expansion arrives in 2027 gosugamers. The shift will apply to all players, whether or not they buy the expansion. Voucher sales end on December 3, 2026, but invenglobal reports each player gets 10 free hunter-edit vouchers and 10 Palico-edit vouchers before then.
Players who bought vouchers won't get refunds, but siliconera notes they'll receive a Special Thank-You Pendant Set with Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar designs. The 2027 update will also add major quality-of-life fixes: UI customization, faster weapon swapping, and expanded loadout options gamingbolt.
Before the change, editing your character was expensive. invenglobal reports a three-voucher hunter pack cost $6.99, while a combined hunter-and-Palico bundle ran $9.99. Players who wanted to tweak their look multiple times had to keep buying. Now, once Ascendance launches, edits become free and unlimited.
Capcom is redesigning the in-game interface to feel cleaner and faster. gamingbolt explains players can move the on-screen clock to the top-left corner next to health and stamina bars. The reactive squiggle indicator — which confused many hunters — gets replaced with a clearer line based on earlier Monster Hunter games, making combat feedback instant and obvious.
The 2027 update speeds up loadout management. Players can now swap weapons and equipment directly from item boxes instead of returning to camp. invenglobal confirms the expansion also expands loadout slots, letting hunters carry more preset gear combinations. These changes cut down the grinding time between hunts and let players focus on the action.
siliconera reports that Capcom is not refunding players who spent real money on vouchers. Instead, early spenders receive a Special Thank-You Pendant Set featuring the Heavenly Hog and Beelzeboar pendants. Capcom hints these pendants may later be sold separately, giving players a unique cosmetic reward for supporting the game during its paid system phase.
