Arnold Schwarzenegger Returns as Santa Claus in Prime Video's New Christmas Action-Comedy

Prime Video has released the first teaser for *The Man with the Bag*, a Christmas action-comedy starring Arnold Schwarzenegger as Santa Claus. When a disgruntled elf, played by Awkwafina, steals Santa’s iconic red gift bag, he recruits thief Vance, played by Alan Ritchson, to assemble a crew of misfits and recover it before Christmas. The cast also includes Liza Koshy, Kyle Mooney, Jane Krakowski, Ken Jeong, Berkeley James and Michael Cyril Creighton, and the film is directed by Adam Shankman. The teaser ends with Schwarzenegger saying, “I’m back,” echoing his famous action-film line. The movie marks his return to Christmas films 30 years after *Jingle All the Way* and premieres globally on Prime Video on Dec. 2, 2026.
The film was shot from December 2024 to February 2025, nearly two years before the teaser’s release.
Santa’s recovery crew gets help from other elves and reindeer as well as the criminally skilled misfits.
Amazon’s official synopsis describes the story as one of “second chances and unlikely friendships,” with Santa’s decision to enlist someone on his Naughty List bringing together people who would not ordinarily work together.
In 1996’s *Jingle All the Way*, Schwarzenegger played Howard Langston, a workaholic father racing to find his son the season’s must-have action figure on Christmas Eve.
