Titans Postpone Chris Johnson Ring of Honor Ceremony Due to Family Travel Issues

The Tennessee Titans have postponed Chris Johnson's Ring of Honor ceremony for the 2009 NFL rushing leader, Chris Johnson, due to travel issues preventing his family from arriving in time for the game against the New York Jets. The Titans had planned to induct Johnson at halftime of their season opener against the Jets. Johnson, who announced in June that he was diagnosed with ALS last year, had previously announced that he had the disease, a neurodegenerative condition that affects nerve cell communication with muscles throughout the body. The halftime ceremony will remain dedicated to Johnson's on-field achievements and legacy. Johnson spent six seasons with the Titans and ran for 9,651 yards and scored 64 touchdowns during his 10-year career.
