Robinhood Unveils AI Trading Agents and 24-Hour Market Access for Retail Traders

At its HOOD Summit, Robinhood unveiled products aimed at attracting active traders, led by Robinhood Agents, which can research markets, develop strategies and place trades through dedicated customer accounts; trade approvals are enabled by default but customers can turn them off. More than 150,000 customers already use agentic trading accounts, whose agents interact with Robinhood’s systems nearly 30 million times daily; planned Agent Apps will add third-party data and tools, while Loops will support continuously running strategies. Robinhood also plans weekend trading in selected U.S. stocks and ETFs, subject to regulatory review, and crypto perpetual futures for eligible U.S. customers, with up to 10x leverage on bitcoin and ether. It introduced earnings-related contracts and plans to expand options trading hours. The announcements extend Robinhood’s push toward automated and round-the-clock retail trading, and its shares rose after the news.
Customers can choose an AI model provider for Robinhood Agents, including OpenAI. Robinhood had opened its platform to outside AI agents in May through its Robinhood Trading MCP.
Weekend trading is expected to run on Bruce ATS, an outside alternative trading system. The earnings contracts are binary options offered through Cboe.
For crypto perpetual futures, the six assets beyond bitcoin and ether will start with 3x leverage; Robinhood said it would charge one basis point per trade through year-end. The contracts will be offered by Robinhood Derivatives through Bitstamp, which Robinhood acquired in June 2025.
Robinhood CEO Vlad Tenev framed the expansion as a bid to bring professional-grade tools to retail traders, saying, “We’re making Robinhood the best place in the world for active traders by delivering tools once reserved for hedge funds, big banks, and quant firms.”
