New poetry workshops, community zines, and international retreats invite writers of all levels.

Several upcoming programs invite participants to create poetry through memory, art, and environmental themes. In St. Johnsbury, Lori Lee will lead a free workshop on using memory to write free-verse and narrative poetry; advance registration is required. At Puget Sound Estuarium, three free workshops in October and November will use the Salish Sea and estuary life as inspiration, with participants’ work compiled into a community zine. Silver City poets are invited to write and perform spontaneous responses to the “Power of Two” exhibit at Light Space Gallery. In Portugal, The Doorway Effect will host a June 2027 retreat for poets and composers, featuring workshops, performances, mentorship, and scholarships; applications are due January 15, 2027.
