Sylvester Stallone, the future "Rocky" icon, revealed in his new memoir, "The Steps," that he struggled to make ends meet in New York City before he became one of Hollywood's biggest stars. Stallone was determined to become an actor despite poverty, rejection, and uncertainty. He held onto the belief that his life would change for the better. The 80-year-old actor said he would shower with his clothes on to save money on laundry. He also found work as an usher at a movie theater, earning just $34 a week, studying the movies he watched. To stave off hunger, Stallone would eat spoonfuls of cottage cheese then down three or four raw eggs. He later revealed that he had a fast food fast food and fast job for a day.
