Maine Reporter Narrowly Avoids Being Run Over After Confrontation Outside Bangor Clinic

Maine Wire reporter Joe Sokol narrowly avoided being run over outside a clinic in Bangor, Maine, after a heated confrontation outside the Bangor Comprehensive Treatment Center. The man, who was overheard criticizing Sokol for filming, argued that he was invading people's privacy and was doing a report. Sokol then backed away from the man's vehicle and recited the suspect's license plate numbers through the knocked-down camera as the car continued its drive. The incident was caught on camera by the publication, which also showed security footage showing how close the vehicle approached Sokol and Sokol approaching the center’s owner, suggesting the suspect was connected. Sokoll confirmed that he had been investigating an addiction clinic and that police were notified and on the scene.
