Boab Metals locks in mining services to advance Sorby Hills toward 2027 production.

Boab Metals is advancing its 100%-owned Sorby Hills silver-lead project in Western Australia toward planned first concentrate production in the second half of 2027. Recent drilling returned high-grade mineralization beyond existing pit designs, including an intercept of 12.62 meters at 204 grams per tonne silver-equivalent, potentially supporting future resource and mine-plan updates. The company has also contracted GR Engineering Services for $109 million to dismantle, refurbish and relocate the DeGrussa processing plant to Sorby Hills. A binding agreement with RE:GROUP Australia sets mining-services site establishment for January 2027 and mining commencement by March, while construction and other early works continue.
Boab said its Phase IX drilling campaign was expanded by 15% beyond its original scope, completing 47 holes and about 930 additional metres, with 2,026 samples submitted for assay.
The DeGrussa Processing Plant was purchased from Sandfire Resources for $10 million before Boab contracted GR Engineering to relocate and redevelop it.
The company has an offtake agreement with Trafigura Asia Trading for lead-silver concentrate.
Boab expects to release a Project Delivery Plan during the current quarter, with updated project economics incorporating contracted capital and operating costs and an enhanced Ore Reserve.
The RE:GROUP agreement follows completion of early works including all-weather site access and Stage 1 of the mine-site camp; the company also said all approvals required to begin mining and construction had been received.
