Seattle Mariners Announce Major Coaching Shake-Up Following Disappointing 2026 Season

The Seattle Mariners will part ways with bench coach Manny Acta, infield coach Perry Hill, hitting coach Kevin Seitzer and first-base coach Eric Young Jr. after the 2026 season, in a shake-up announced by president of baseball operations Jerry Dipoto and general manager Justin Hollander. The move came a day after manager Dan Wilson said he would not return in 2027. Seattle finished 76-86 and missed the playoffs, following an American League Championship Series appearance the previous year; Dipoto said the organization believes significant changes are needed. Acta had spent 11 seasons on the major-league staff and Hill eight, while Seitzer and Young joined the staff in 2025. Several other coaches are expected to remain.
