NCERT Launches 40-Week Online Science Diploma Course for Middle-School Teachers

The programme was designed by NCERT’s Department of Education in Science and Mathematics (DESM).
NCERT says the course is intended to build teachers’ understanding of how children learn science and the abilities, skills, attitudes and practices teachers need to foster—not just improve teachers’ grasp of the subject.
The course is open to both in-service and pre-service teachers involved in teaching Science up to Class 8.
The programme is scheduled to conclude on August 31, 2027.
The course notification says teachers can use its examples and learning materials to plan lessons, explain concepts and demonstrate parts of the course content directly in class.
