Four Major Indian Companies Announce Q2 Trading Closures Ahead of Financial Results

Accel said its restriction is under its Code of Conduct to Regulate, Monitor and Report Trading by Insiders, framed under SEBI’s Prohibition of Insider Trading Regulations, 2015.
Mangal Electrical’s notice was signed on September 23, 2026, by Naresh Kumar Sharma, the company’s secretary and compliance officer.
Orient Electric’s restriction also covers people for whom designated persons make trading decisions, and applies ahead of results for both the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026.
BPCL’s upcoming results will cover both the quarter and half-year ended September 30, 2026.
Five major Indian firms have announced trading window closures ahead of their second-quarter earnings releases. PSU Connect reports that BPCL, Accel Limited, Mangal Electrical Industries, and Orient Electric are restricting insider trading to prevent unfair advantage before financial results for the quarter ending September 30, 2026. Accel's window closed on September 24, while the other three begin October 1. All windows reopen 48 hours after results are announced.
India's securities regulator, SEBI, requires public companies to restrict insider trading around major announcements. TipRanks explains that these closures prevent executives and board members from buying or selling shares using non-public financial data. The restrictions follow SEBI's Prohibition of Insider Trading Regulations, 2015. Each company enforces its own Code of Conduct to implement these rules fairly.
Trading restrictions apply to 'designated persons'—typically executives, board members, and senior staff with access to confidential information. PSU Connect notes that many companies, including Orient Electric, also restrict immediate relatives and anyone for whom these insiders make trading decisions. The rules aim to close all potential loopholes. Accel's notice specifically cites its internal compliance framework for insider trading regulation.
This trend is industry-wide. TipRanks reports that Megastar Foods, Eicher Motors, and other major firms have also announced October 1 trading closures. SCANX Trade confirms that Mawana Sugars followed the same timeline. Indian Oil announced its October 1 closure for both the quarter and half-year ending September 30, 2026. Most windows will reopen within 48 hours of earnings announcements, though exact dates remain pending board meeting schedules.
